Adam Trent – Futuristic Illusionist
Sunday, March 19, 2017 – 2:30 pm

Broadway and TV star Adam Trent exemplifies a new generation of magician.

As one of the stars of the hit Broadway show ‘The Illusionists’, which shattered box office records during it’s 2014/2015 run, as well as his appearances on Good Morning America, America’s Got Talent, Disney Channel, ABC, VH1, Rachel Ray, Travel Channel, SyFy and others, he is one of the most in demand illusionists working today.

Described as Justin Timberlake meet David Copperfield, his audience interactive performances are part magic, part concert, and part stand up comedy, with a fast paced variety necessary for today’s theatre audience. Approaching his craftiness with a tongue and cheek attitude allows him to connect with people who normally hate magic shows. He promises that audiences will leave his show feeling differently than they expected to feel after a magic show.

In addition to his regular TV appearances and staggering schedule of over 300 live shows each year, Trent has a vast history of philanthropic work for which US News & World Report Magazine named him ‘1 of the 10 Most Influential Youths in America’.

“So amazing, it’s hard to put into words. Your eyes will deceive you, your heartbeat will race, and your mind will be blown” – NY Theatre Guide

“A long way from the stale, hocus-pocus image of birthday party magicians from the past.” – Associated Press

“The next big thing for magic… a genius headed straight for stardom” – Huffington post

Tenoré unleashes a glorious sound that breaks down musical barriers, draws together diverse cultures, and celebrates a repertoire of lyrical sweetness and dramatic strength. They are known for their powerhouse vocals, rock star charisma and invitations with audiences to sing along with them. A powerful concert experience.

When John, Paul, George and Ringo arrived in North America so many decades ago, they spawned something called Beatlemania and the world of popular culture has never been quite the same. Since then other singers have incited similar musical mayhem and now, we predict, the group Tenore are poised to deliver a similar cultural wallop. Why? Because The Chosen Three—Jason Catron, Mark David Williams and David Wise – Have It All. They have wit, talent, charm and charisma in spades. And, separate from other tenor groups, they add one additional component to their sold out energizing performances – they regularly invite audiences everywhere to sing along with them, creating a powerful concert experience.

The brainchild of Jill Ann Siemens, founder of the Platinum-Selling Canadian Tenors, adoring fans can now see why Tenore is becoming the powerful musical phenomenon that it is. Fans can expect the experience of a lifetime, where the audience irresistibly leaps to their feet, sways to the music and sings along to beloved tunes that everyone knows. This creates an instantaneous connection between artist and concertgoer.

“It doesn’t matter if you have a crowd of 5,000 young people thundering We Will Rock You or a 2,000 strong audience singing Climb Every Mountain,, there is something powerful and indescribable in thousands of voices singing together . It’s nothing new – you hear it daily in stadiums around the world, in flash mobs, and now, in our concerts. We love to sing – and even if we can’t, as long as the person next to us is singing – we’re in!” says Siemens.

Together Tenore unleashes a glorious sound that breaks down musical barriers, draws together diverse cultures, and celebrates a repertoire of lyrical sweetness and dramatic strength. They enjoy a very special chemistry with each other and their enthusiastic audiences.

When a new musical group first arrives on the scene it is an entertainment industry cliché to talk about the “birth” of a new star. With the launch of Tenore, however, three “stars” really have been born. As solo acts, each shone brightly. Together, they are luminous. These remarkably talented and handsome young men have already accumulated a tremendous amount of professional experience and artistic accomplishment. Those individual legacies have now blended together to form something quite extraordinary.

When the group’s Founder, Jill Ann Siemens, is asked why Tenore generates such enthusiasm whenever—and wherever—they perform, she has a simple but compelling answer, “All the world loves a beautiful song and when the song is sung by three inordinately talented and handsome young men, all the better”. Siemens own passion for the tenor voice dates to her childhood when her father, would sing her to sleep with his own beautiful tenor voice.

The tenor voice has always been the “Everest” of musical culture. Think of the “great” Caruso or Mario Lanza. But the present day love affair with the tenor voice probably dates from the inaugural performances of the Three Tenors—Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras—back in 1989. The stunning success of their concert series spawned other acts—the Celtic Tenors, Josh Groban and Il Divo, etc.—but they all had one mission in common: To bring the classically trained voice to a wider—and for the most part non-operatic—audience. Or, as Jill Ann Siemens, pithily puts it, “To make this type of music user friendly for people who don’t  know arias from their elbows.”

Tenore combines the stunning vocal talents of Mark David Williams, David Wise and Jason Catron. The award winning team of producer/arranger Kent Hooper and Phillip Keveren, the Prague National Symphony…, several seasoned Nashville studio musicians, and the vision of Jill Ann Siemens, Founder of World-Renowned, Multi-Platinum Selling Artists, The Canadian Tenors, have joined together to create a stunning debut album. This was followed by a recent Christmas album, entitled “Christmas with You”, featuring the Grammy award winning vocal pop star, Heather Headley on the title track. Destined to become a favorite, this Christmas album contains the best of tenor classics and pop music. Nominated in 11 categories with the GMA, Tenore has walked away with 4 awards, including Fan Choice of the Year, Seasonal Album of the Year, Traditional Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Tenore has criss-crossed the globe from Kampala to California, and along with live TV and award recognition, have garnered an impressive, and loyal fan base. Since their sold out debut tour, they have performed in more than 200 concerts for hundreds of thousands of eager, excited fans.

Tenore interacts with their audience in a personal and lighthearted manner, and it’s rewarding to see all the smiles after a concert. They are now positioned to enter the big stage with a team of professionals that are excited at the prospect of now taking them to the top.

“Tenore will blow you away from the first listen, yet addict you like a great Bocelli Record.” – Brett Manning, World-Renowned Vocal Coach and Founder of Singing Success

Melinda has wowed audiences everywhere from the White House to the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall. Her debut album, Coming Back to You (2009), garnered rave reviews from critics, including The New York Times which hailed Melinda as one of the most “phenomenally gifted” singers in years. A powerful Pop vocalist.

MELINDA DOOLITTLE became a household name on season six of American Idol. According to Simon Cowell and audiences alike, Melinda is the “one who should have won.”

In 2013 alone, Melinda was featured on 5 studio albums, including her sophomore release You’re The Reason. Her latest album offers listeners a true glimpse into Doolittle as an Artist, as she wrote and performed half of the songs on the album. Melinda told the Hollywood Reporter that she approached the album “from the aspect of love. It’s what shapes my life daily. I wanted to be transparent and honest.”

Her debut album, Coming Back to You (2009), garnered rave reviews from critics, including The New York Times; which hailed Melinda as one of the most ‘phenomenally gifted’ singers in years.  The album recalls the magic and luster of R&B’s classic artists and features production by GRAMMY-nominated producer Mike Mangini. Recorded with the highest caliber musicians from the musical epicenters of Nashville and New York City, Coming Back to You soars as a soul-baring tour de force with Melinda transforming lively soul, jazz, pop and R&B stylings into a definitive collection of songs that urge the listener to come back again and again.

In 2010 Melinda released her inspirational book; Beyond Me: Finding Your Way to Life’s Next Level, Doolittle recounts the life lessons that have shaped who she is today.  Illustrated by poignant, often humorous stories, the lessons and “Mommyisms” provide practical guidance to overcoming personal obstacles and achieving the next level in any area of life. Tone deaf as a child, Melinda’s choir teacher would plead with her not to sing, but just silently move her mouth. Undaunted, her love of singing drove her to enter a talent show in the 7th grade, and after much practice and prayer, she stunned the audience with her miraculously spot-on vocals and beautiful voice.  She never looked back.

Melinda went on to graduate with a music degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN and hone her skills as a background singer with the Gospel group Anointed.  She eventually carved out a niche in the Nashville music scene, singing background for musical legends such as Michael McDonald, Aretha Franklin, and Aaron Neville, before finishing third on the sixth season of American Idol.

“Idol was an amazing experience for me,” says Melinda.  “I learned so much about myself and made lifelong friendships.  It has also provided me with unimaginable opportunities to sing music I love and have a platform to make a difference.”

Since her time on Idol, Melinda has wowed audiences everywhere from the White House to the Musicians Hall of Fame, from the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall.  She has gone on to share the stage with some of the very artists for whom she sang background as well as music luminaries such as Peter Cetera, Cyndi Lauper, and the renowned Boston Pops Orchestra.

In an evening filled with songs ranging from your favorite American Standards to Top 40 Hits, the Soul Songstress brings her indelible charm and powerhouse vocals to the stage in a show called It Must Be Love. Thrilling audiences of all ages, Doolittle reminds America why they voted for her, and proves that the audience always wins.

“Melinda Doolittle has a stunning voice, an infectious personality and an inviting presence. She lights up a stage!”   – Keith Lockhart, Conductor, The Boston Pops

“Ms. Doolittle has a voice that inspires trust… a phenomenally gifted, stylistically adroit singer.” – The New York Times

“Like a young Tina Turner, she can go from a slinky purr to a mighty, gospel charged growl.” – People

Jim Witter: I Write The Songs – The Music of Barry Manilow
Saturday, October 15, 2016 – 7:00 pm

Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter brings Manilow Catalog to Life
Jim Witter is back with a brand new show, paying tribute to one of the most iconic singer/songwriter/composers in popular music history…Barry Manilow. Reminisce as Jim and his band recreate these classic songs in their full Manilow splendor. Iconic songs and multi-media presentation.

From a very early age, Jim Witter’s parents knew he was destined for the stage.  “We would get phone calls from neighbours saying how much they were enjoying Jim’s concert.  Turns out he was on our front porch belting out  tunes for anyone who would listen”, says his mom about the then 4-year old.  “That front porch seemed just like the perfect stage to me”, Jim recalls, “It would have been a shame not to use it as one!”.

Jim has been performing since he was a child, and professionally for the last 30 years.  His first break came in his early twenties when Sony Music Canada signed Jim to an artist development deal which lead to a record deal with FRE records in Toronto.  Jim’s self-titled debut album garnered 5 top ten radio hits, 3 hit videos, and awards from the Canadian Country Music Association, The Big Country Awards, a SOCAN Songwriting award, and others.  This impressive debut lead to a record deal with Curb records in Nashville, home to Leanne Rimes, Tim McGraw and Wynonna Judd.  More impressive chart action followed, and Jim’s album “Forgiveness” was even nominated for a Dove Award for “Inspirational Album Of The Year” in Nashville.

In 2001, Jim produced and starred in “The Piano Men”, a musical journey through the 70’s featuring the hits of Billy Joel and Elton John.  The show was a nod to Jim’s musical hero’s growing up, and was an immediate success.  Still touring, “The Piano Men” is now in it’s 14th season and going strong.  The success of “The Piano Men” led to other shows like “Feelin’ Groovy-The 60’s and the music of Simon and Garfunkel”, and “The Long And Winding Road-The Music of Lennon and McCartney, and the stories behind the songs”.

Through the years Jim has received much audience feedback requesting a show of Barry Manilow’s material.  “I remember singing Manilow songs while I was playing piano bars in Southern Ontario as a teenager.  I love these tunes.  Everybody does.  Even those who won’t admit it…they love a good Manilow song”.  After carefully choosing the best from Barry Manilow’s songbook, working on the arrangements, and tailoring the visual aspect of the show, Jim’s newest musical tribute “I Write The Songs” is ready to go on the road.

Songs like “Mandy”, “Could It Be Magic”, “Weekend In New England”, and “Even Now” are just a few of the hits you’ll hear Jim and his band recreate in all of their full, Manilow splendor.  Get ready for lots of audience participation too, and lots of laughs during songs like “Copa Cabana” where some lucky audience members become the stars of the song on the giant screen behind Jim and the band!  You’ll learn about some of the TV jingles that Barry wrote that you perhaps weren’t aware of, but know intimately.  You’ll be singing along to tunes like “Can’t Smile Without You”, “Looks Like We Made It”, and others while the lyrics for the songs appear on the screen behind.  Barry Manilow’s songs have the power to make you smile, make you laugh, and even shed a tear.  You’ll hear these songs come alive like you never have before when Jim and his band take the stage.

Jim still lives in Southern Ontario with his beautiful wife of 25 years, Rebecca, and their four gorgeous children James, Roslyn, Ryan and Luke.
